Most excavation jobs in Gosford come down to three questions. Will a machine fit? What’s under the ground? And how soon can someone start?

What Gosford Blocks Throw at You
Much of the Gosford basin sits on Hawkesbury sandstone, and it can turn up half a metre down or three metres down with no warning. If we hit rock, the 1.7T carries a rock hammer and the larger machines can be brought in for anything the small gear won't shift. I'll tell you what we've hit and what it changes before the invoice, not after.
Post-war homes around North Gosford, Wyoming and Narara often leave under a metre of side access. The 1.7T fits through most standard gates and can be walked down a side path without lifting your pavers or your fence.
Yards in Springfield, Green Point, Point Clare and the hill side of East Gosford often fall away sharply at the rear. That usually means benching, a retaining wall or both to get a usable pad. Worth knowing early: under the NSW Codes SEPP, retaining walls over 600mm generally need approval through Central Coast Council or a private certifier, and walls near a boundary can trip that threshold sooner. I build to whatever your engineer or certifier has specified.
Flat sections near Narara Creek and the Brisbane Water foreshore hold water. That changes how spoil is handled and when the job is best scheduled, so I'll flag it at the quote rather than bogging a machine on your lawn.
Trenches for plumbing, electrical, stormwater and comms, plus NBN pit and pipe installs. Older Gosford streets have services running in unexpected places, so I work off Dial Before You Dig plans and hand dig where the plans say to.
Clearing overgrown vegetation and small trees, then stripping and prepping the ground so new turf sits level and drains properly instead of pooling at the low end.
Driveways, paths and slabs broken up with the jackhammer attachment and carted off site. Handy on the older properties around North Gosford and Wyoming where the original driveway has lifted or cracked through.
Timber, concrete sleeper, sandstone or rock. Common on the sloping rear yards through Springfield, Green Point and East Gosford. Anything over 600mm generally needs approval, so I build to what your engineer or certifier has specified.
Laser-level pads for sheds, garages, granny flats and pools. On a Gosford block with any fall, this is usually where the job starts and where the cost is decided.
Augered holes in a range of sizes for fencing, decks and pergolas. Clean and consistent depth, which matters more than it sounds once the posts go in.
1.7T mini excavator with augers and rock hammer, available wet or dry. Larger machines on request if the job outgrows the small gear.
Spoil, rubble and green waste taken away, either alongside the excavation or as a standalone run. Worth booking together, since excavation produces more material than most people expect
